Most of the time user likes to use FTP client to manage their files. FTP client without proper setting may experience failed to retrieve directory listing or file transfer. This also leads to your IP temporary block by our firewall due to port scanning by nature.  Below are the steps to rectify such issue:

If you are using FileZilla:

1) Open Filezilla, go to Edit >  Settings
2) Under Connection, click FTP, select Active and make sure the "Allow fallback to another transfer mode on failure" is checked.
3) Under Connection > FTP,  click Active mode, make sure the "Ask your operating system for the external IP address" is checked.
4) Under Connection > FTP,  click Passive mode, make sure the "Fall Back to Active Mode" is checked.
5) Press OK to save the setting.

You should be able to retrieve your account's directory listing now.
